The landscape of a day, sunrise to sunset, much resembles the landscape of a life. We relish in the rise - treasuring the memories of first feedings and first steps. Tender is a word the can signify either aching pain or gentle care. It is the ability of one situation, over time, to produce of these two responses- pain and care- that the majority of my work focuses on. Like first and last steps, I explore acts that change throughout life, ones once sweet and gentle, then turning bitter and aching with the passing of daybreaks.
